NattyTap Cookie Policy

Last Updated: February 14, 2026

NattyTap, LLC (“NattyTap,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) uses cookies and similar tracking technologies on our website at nattytap.com and any subdomains (the “Site”) to enhance your experience, analyze usage, and improve functionality. This Cookie Policy explains what cookies are, the types we use, why we use them, and how you can manage them.

This Policy applies only to the NattyTap marketing website. A separate policy will apply once the full NattyTap SaaS platform launches.

We operate from Austin, Texas, United States. This Policy complies with applicable U.S. law, including the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act (TDPSA) where relevant.

1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device (computer, mobile phone, tablet) when you visit a website. They help the Site remember information about your visit (e.g., preferences, login status) and collect usage data.

We also use similar technologies such as web beacons, pixels, local storage, and device identifiers for the same purposes.

2. Types of Cookies We Use

A. Strictly Necessary / Essential Cookies

  • Purpose: These are required for the Site to function properly (e.g., session management, security, navigation between pages).
  • They do not require consent under most laws.
  • Duration: Mostly session-based (deleted when you close your browser) or short-term persistent.
  • Examples: Session cookies to keep you logged in during form submissions (if implemented later).

B. Performance / Analytics Cookies

  • Purpose: Help us understand how visitors use the Site (e.g., pages visited, time spent, errors encountered) so we can improve performance and user experience.
  • We may use tools like Google Analytics or similar services (hosted in the U.S.). These collect anonymized or aggregated data.
  • Duration: Persistent (up to 2 years for some analytics cookies).
  • Legal basis: Legitimate interest (improving our Site) or consent where required.

C. Functional Cookies

  • Purpose: Remember choices you make (e.g., language preference, if added later) to provide a more personalized experience.
  • Duration: Persistent or session-based.
  • Legal basis: Legitimate interest or consent.

D. Marketing / Advertising Cookies

  • We do not currently use marketing or targeted advertising cookies on the Site.
  • If we add them in the future (e.g., retargeting pixels), we will update this Policy and obtain your consent.

We do not sell personal data derived from cookies, nor do we use cookies for profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects.

3. Third-Party Cookies

Some cookies are placed by third-party services we use (e.g., analytics providers). These parties may collect data about your browsing across sites. For details, see their privacy policies:

4. Your Choices & How to Manage Cookies

You can control cookies in several ways:

A. Browser Settings

Most browsers allow you to:

  • See what cookies are stored and delete them
  • Block all or specific cookies
  • Receive a warning before a cookie is placed

Note: Blocking essential cookies may prevent the Site from functioning properly.

B. Cookie Consent Banner

(If/when we implement one)

We may display a banner on first visit allowing you to accept or reject non-essential cookies. Your choices are saved via a cookie or local storage.

C. Do Not Track Signals

Some browsers send “Do Not Track” (DNT) signals. We do not currently respond to DNT signals because there is no industry-standard way to interpret them. We honor global privacy control signals (GPC) where applicable under TDPSA.

D. Texas Privacy Rights

Texas residents may exercise rights (access, delete, opt-out) related to data collected via cookies by emailing privacy@nattytap.com. See our Privacy Policy (/privacy) for details.

7. Implementation Recommendations

  • Add a link to this page in your footer (next to Privacy Policy and Terms of Use).
  • Cookie banner (recommended): Even though Texas/TDPSA does not strictly mandate one for non-targeted-advertising sites, adding a simple banner for non-essential cookies (analytics) builds trust and future-proofs you. Tools like CookieYes, Termly, or Cookiebot can auto-generate compliant banners.
  • Update Privacy Policy: Add a sentence there like: “See our separate Cookie Policy (/cookie-policy) for details on cookies and tracking technologies.”
  • Audit cookies: Use browser dev tools or a scanner to confirm what’s actually running (e.g., Azure Static Web Apps may set minimal session cookies).
